Dr. Kenneth Donovan is originally from Toms River, New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from The College of New Jersey, graduating cum laude, before completing his Doctorate at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine’s honors program in Philadelphia. While at Temple, he received several academic awards and graduated near the top of his class.

Dr. Donovan completed his surgical residency training at RWJBarnabas in Livingston, New Jersey, where he participated in more than 1,200 surgical cases involving a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunion, hammertoe, heel, and ankle procedures. He completed his training as Chief Resident.

Board Certified in Foot Surgery, Dr. Donovan has been in private practice since 2010 and opened his own practice in 2014. Since completing residency, he has performed more than 1,000 additional surgical procedures and treated more than 10,000 patients. His clinical interests include foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, diabetic foot care, wound care, and incorporating newer technologies and non-surgical treatment options whenever appropriate.

In 2022, Dr. Donovan expanded his practice to South Carolina, opening Advanced Care Foot and Ankle in Charleston while continuing his involvement with his New Jersey practices. In 2023, he merged practices with longtime friend and colleague Dr. Theodore Roberto, becoming co-owner of Total Care Foot and Ankle. Together, they have continued to expand the practice while maintaining an emphasis on personalized, patient-centered foot and ankle care.

Dr. Donovan is on staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and the RWJBarnabas Health Wound Care Center.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Donovan enjoys an active lifestyle that includes running, surfing, and hiking. A longtime runner who has completed several marathons and competed as an all-county track athlete in high school, he brings firsthand experience to the treatment of running and sports-related injuries. He also enjoys attending concerts, traveling, surfing and spending time with his wife and two children.
